I'll be interested to see how they perform; please report in the spring.

I have Nokians for winter and they are superb.

I've had those Nokians and Bridgestone Blizzaks on my Volvos, never tried a CTC snow tire before, apparently these were designed and built with and by Cooper, we'll see...

Cut off my smoking 2nd fan belt on the trail with a coat hanger and knives. Was fine getting out of woods and 6 hours home withou .
At 145k miles it was overdue...Should I replace water pump and tensioner(s) at the same time? Anything else? Is there an electric fan option yet? Thanks for input.

Guessing you mean the one that runs the cooling fan. For me I would do both belts the idler and tensioner. If the water pump is leaking than sure if not I would leave it be. I would be sure to check out all the hoses while I was there if they are original they are probably coming due for replacement.

No electric fan replacement that I am aware of. It would probably send the computer into convulsions having the electronic fan clutch missing lol

Fitted a dash camera to my android head unit and put it behind the mirror with the cable tucked into the headlining and then down the A pillar and under the dash to the stereo.
Took my 16yo daughter on a 5hr round trip to Phillip Island with her driving on her learner license, the car and i survived !

Default Pre Trip Check

Pre trip check on the LR3. Leaving today from Phoenix to So Cal, then down to Baja on Thursday.

Checked tire pressure, under hood checks, new michelin hybrid wiper blades from Costco(Seems like a well made wiper)

Got my 30" breaker bar out of the D1 to put in the LR3 for the trip and decided to check all the lug nuts. I found at least 1 nut on each tire that I could put a 1/4 turn with very little effort. Just FYI check your nuts!

Happy Thanksgiving All.

Those Michelin wiper blades from Costco are the best deal in Canada for wiper blades, and they work well...

First post in a while.

I decided to finally tackle the annoying compressor warning I've had for a week or two. I figured the desiccant was in need of replacement so I purchased one of the kits online. I was also planning to have a look at my suspension joints as I have a knock and figured one of the bushings was worn.

To my horror and only after I was able to get the compressor cover off by drilling out the two end bolts - the center 10mm one just snapped as they were all totally corroded - I found out what was causing the knocking. The compressor mounting bracket has corroded, to be more accurate when you poke it it just crumbles. the only thing holding it in place is all the connections and air lines, the mounting bracket is about half the size it should be. Even the connectors on the dryer have started to disintegrate - never seen anything like it.

So I now need to find a way to somehow hold it in place while I order and wait for a replacement, which won't be easy given there is not exactly a lot of options.

Not the sort of day I was expecting, but on the bright side at least I don't have any worn out bushings!

I cant really get in their to get a decent picture, but will post some once I get it out when the replacement arrives.

Found the exhaust leak so I can patch it back together for now.

Today I finally got around to putting trim dressing on all of the exterior plastic trim and painted the intake vent grille black. I also moved my exterior temperature sensor to the small opening in the front bumper to get a more accurate temperature. Ever since I got my LR3 in September I noticed that the sensor would heat soak in traffic or after sitting parked when out doing errands and not recover and show temps higher outside than they really were.

Final product for the day.
