Ahk,, My problem was the height of the car and Width size of the wheel. Mines a 19'' Spare and so wide I have to jack the rear up get it out (Even in Extended height mode). The Other rims are 20'' but with the larger wall size on the 19'' it works out to the same size once on the car. No joy in getting that spare out on a hot Aussie summer day. Especially when the boot was chocked full of tools n whatnot. Had to remove all the gear to get to the Jack and the adjuster nut. The seized Towbar didn't help the situation at all. But even with a new one that removes, the fixed towbar frame is about 1'' in the way of pulling the spare out the rear. The spare is still a nightmare. The upside is having the matching size, once on the car. I see why the UK have the 'U' style Tow hitch. The Aussie style is a seriously bad idea. I think I'll carry a couple of chocks to drive up on the rear, so I don't ever have to go through that nightmare again. Cheers.

Rim size doesn't matter and 19's aren't that big, the UK hitch is crap and i'd much rather the 2"receiver type common to AUS and US vehicles. I did replace mine with a Mitch Hitch though which doesn't affect the spare access, whats wrong with lowering or raising the suspension ?

Just bought one!! First-time LR owner (long-time jeep owner). My son and I will be bringing this beauty back to life over the next year for his first car.

Got my instrument cluster back from a repair shop. Unfortunately it came back with a garbled LCD screen. Returned it for a warranty repair. Hoping to have a working cluster next week after a very long wait.

The bearing was shot or the support? The support goes first usually. Bearing lasts a but longer. Also I can only recommend and hope you put an OEM shaft in, being Spicer or GKN. The aftermarkets dont seem to hold up long. And some sketchy sellers will say they are selling you OEM, but they are cheap knock offs that are marked way up.

@loanrangie I've got a new acid trip video for you!

I put some grid panels across the Prospeed crossbars to add utility to the rack. I think the Prospeed is great because it looks oem and keeps things quiet at highway speeds, but honestly it lacks at being able to actually hold things.. ..unless you permanently add a roof tent or awning, but that is not my usecase. These plastic grid panels installed in the video keep with the theme of things I like about the Prospeed. They don't add noise or weight, they let the light through to the interior, they protect the sunroof glass, and most importantly, they enable using the rack for many more purposes like duffels, firewood, camp chairs - anything you want to toss up there to free up interior space. I've got a spare tire up there on the grid platform now, but it spans the metal crossbars. The plastic grid has it's limits - I never bear heavy loads there - instead stepping on the steel crossbars.

Cheers!

Love that Prospeed rack. Had it been in stock when I was buying, I would have one. But it was many, many months out. Instead I got a rack from Voyager and they sent me the WRONG one. Then they ghosted me when I tried to contact them and return it... Anyway, I have a thread on here where I used those same plastic panels. At $25 or such each, pretty affordable solution for decking. I got the idea from this forum! They have been holding up great! I used very large UV resistant zip ties to secure mine in place. With small notches in the grid removed to keep the ties below deck level. And while I can stand on a section with nothing under, I agree that they are a bit "soft" so I tend to only step in the crossbars also.

Wow, you did a terrific job, DakotaTravler! I really like how you integrated eyelets and notches for those industrial zipties - I'll have to look those up. Your posts are great, I found your voyager rack install and am linking to it here (but I couldn't find your grid flooring post). On your original Voyager install thread, I appreciated your red annotations on the photos for description, and the aerial top down shot (from a quadcopter?). I am new to this LR3 as of last year, after 20 years with my Jeep Cherokee, so it feels nice to have a warm welcome to a new vehicle forum! I am sharing some links here to help people follow along with our conversation about the plastic grid for roof rack flooring options. It will make it easier for me to come back to this information in the future, that's for sure.
