The brakes themselves are identical, its just the caliper mounting brackets that are different plus a small rotor. Pads the same. So to swap is not too hard, just need the right brackets and rotors.
Replaced the switch in the upper tailgate. Water ingress, short circuited. The aluminum bar inside the switch housing was all oxidized. Led to actuator being triggered constantly. Even got a nice code for it.
B1C42-23 (2C) Tailgate release switch 2 - General signal failure - signal stays low
Hi guys!
Finally got to do something cool with my Disco! We picked up a Suzuki gsx650f for my brother. About three hours and 200 miles round trip and the truck didn't miss a beat. Not all that far I know, but my Disco has fought me on everything since I bought it. So I'm thrilled and genuinely surprised that this trip went great!
Replaced front right caliper with new. One piston was stuck, didn’t bother investigating it further.
Replaced front brake pads with another set of Brembo ones. There was some material left on the old ones but because of stuck piston wear was quite uneven on one side. I had about 64k km and four years on them. I guess they could have lasted 20k km or so more.
Finally replaced the brake fluid and used IID for bleeding the system.
Well, I just got my first LR3 and while I'm waiting to get it registered I went ahead and changed the transfer case fluid, changed the rear diff fluid, installed some all-weather mats, changed the air filter, changed the pollen filter, and (though this has been over a few days) polished, waxed, and used Gtechniq C4 to restore the black plastic trim (seems to work very well BTW, but time will tell how it holds up). I've been busy, though nothing too serious yet.
I would change the front diff fluid too. that one was much dirtier on mine than the rear.
