finally decided to deal with the annoying 'bonnet open' intermittent fault I have. Disconnected the latch, cleaned out the switch which was really gummed up and put it back together - hey presto, no difference!!!

So I just decided I can live without being told my bonnet is open as it should be pretty obvious and no other vehicle I've owned had one, so I simply disconnected the connector, put in a shorting link and now no more warning :-)

Default still have my original bonnet

Back in 2005 or thereabouts, Land Rover boasted that the bonnet was the largest sheet of pressed aluminum on any vehicle worldwide. It was a first - never been done before. I suppose the new Ford pickups have the aluminum hood now that Land Rover has proved it out, so large aluminum pressings are no longer unique.

My only real experience with the bonnet catches, or the lack of them was early on when new, one day when I got up to freeway speeds the right front corner of the bonnet stated to vibrate and sort of lift. I watched it for a bit and decided that was not good. I did not recall seeing any bonnet catch messages by the way.

Regardless, I pulled over, stopped, got out and pressed that corner of the bonnet down until I heard the latch click - all good then.

Since then, wherever the bonnet has been opened, upon closing, I pull up on the outside corners to see if there is any movement. On occasion there is and I do the press down thing.

I still have my original bonnet but I suppose now there are lots of bonnets in the junk yards - well maybe not lots as most crashes are frontal but...

Put a new rear wiper blade on both LR3s and washed the 07. Started packing the 06 for MAR.

Default Seat Rock

Fixed the seat knock issue - that little slippage in the driver's seat when starting up from a stop. Super simple fix, following these instructions:
