Haha, oldest permanently mounted I would say. Not the oldest in the truck though! That honor is granted to my large brown artillery box. My grandfather bought that on his way to Daytona when he was 18 years old.

The radio I found at the flea market for $3, so I figured it would be a good intro to CB. Plus, I really liked the styling. Not a big fan of the look of newer radios.

Mine shouldn't get knocked around by much bush. I'm honestly pretty protective of my paint job, so I don't get into anything thick. I looked at a roof mount (there's already a factory hole in the center of the rear, over the cargo area) but I need to keep it lower so I can pull in and out of the garage when it's cold out. Eventually I'll get a big 8.5' whip anyway.

Haha, I took a screenshot and forwarded it to my girlfriend (chicken skull was her addition). Here was her response.

You keep that thing in your truck full time? You ought to tie it to your front bumper like Boss Hog.

Bird skills are hard to find laying around.

Bird skulls are easier

Haha, true that. Especially up on a farm like where she's grown up. They've had all kinds of skulls up there. The first time I went fishing on their property I pulled a bull skull with big ole horns out of the pond.

Took the D2 outdoor skating at the local marina with the kids and dog. Drove down the boat ramp and parked on next to the ice sheet and had a blast!

This past Saturday, I drove up Mt. Washington on Vancouver Island to do some snowshoeing. Nice snowfall, and the Yokohama Geolander tires dug right in. Driving back down the hill was near blizzard conditions and putting the tranny in gear 1 or 2 to follow traffic steadied the ride down. I find it amazing that some big 4x4 trucks were still fishtailing simply due to their improper front-to-back weight ratio. Glad I left when I did, for a 3 foot snowfall came that evening.
