I did figure out last night that I can cold start it in Dynamic mode. I started playing around with that after I got the exhaust valves opened with my GAP tool.

Ignition on, change to dynamic mode, then press the brake and start it.
That seemed to work.
I was really wanting to hear a cold start with exhaust valves open.

What if you have V8/P525.
Mine has dynamic mode already, but best I can tell, my dynamic mode is not something I can edit or adjust like I see the guys on here doing with their 400s.
I want to adjust my suspension to comfort/normal but keep the rest of dynamic mode as it is. Is that possible on a 2023 P525.

Am I am just not finding the right screen to make the adjustments, or do I need to change anything with the GAP tool to make mine where I can edit the individual components within dynamic mode.

I don't seem to have access to this screen on my P525's dynamic mode.
I have a 110 V8 it is P500 (not 525 or Carpathian) and it has dynamic mode, but as you mentioned it is not adjustable. Just got a gap tool to turn off the stop start and it worked so will look at adding the dynamic selector and other goodies mentioned.

Yea, I am loving this tool, it is real game changer, I am not sure how much I would like the car, if not for now having the ability to fix a few things I really did not care for.
It really is making me love this car more and more every time I go in and customize something more to my liking.

I have had my GAP tool all setup now for all of about 2-3 days, and every night I have found something else I want to tweak a little more to my liking.
Tonight, will be getting rid of that brake hold feature and trying to add this adjustable dynamic mode.

With the V8 you should already have the dynamic mode and the user interface for it. I assume all V8s have the dynamic mode but perhaps not.

There is a Dynamic Mode Icon in the main screen. Just tap the tile icon lower left to open up all the various things and you'll see it. A racing helmet. GAP tool not needed here.

I do have dynamic mode.
I have not found a way to pull up any screens to edit dynamic mode.
Nothing like the pic I posted earlier.
Other than the custom mode having optional settings, I don't see any adjustments for any of the pre-configured modes.
I will look again.

Not so …… dynamic mode is available but not user adjustable on some V8’s ask me how I know. There is no racing helmet, and a gap tool is needed here.

Ok

How do you know?

I'm sure you're right, I've not sat in a V8 let alone driven one but I thought the dynamic mode was a core feature and emphasized heavily by LR when the V8 came out. Spirited driving or some such nonsense. Without my g-meter and lap timer I'd be a shell of a man.

Ha, your posts are awesome you and some others on this forum know your stuff and I really enjoy the help. How do I know - because I have a Defender V8 that has dynamic available for selection (and it works and feels awesome) but currently it is not adjustable, in my vehicle there is no racing helmet (yet). I will be adding that shortly thanks to this and other posts. Again appreciate all of your posts - most helpful.

If anyone is looking to get a little bit of a discount on a GAP tool, I saw an Email this morning that Lucky8 has a 5% off sale this weekend, it says it applies to all their products.
That is where I bought mine among a couple other things for my Defender. Very fast service.

Old post, but I haven't seen this question answered, and hopefully by now someone knows something they'd like to share, so I thought I'd chip in.

"There's no magic, just PID tuning".

Basic physics stay the same, but control algorithms change. A lot of things in this world are controlled by Proportional-Integral-Derivative Controllers, PID Controllers for short. The perceived perkiness of the vehicle is facilitated by increasing the D (derivative) component of the PID controller setup - for the same control motion, you have increased control signal change (likely decayed with time since you moved the control too, so that you feel a "snap" - subjective often matters much more than objective). There's a good reason the word "magic" is at the start of this answer, PID tuning is a fine art and it is very easy to screw it up for any mechanism - google up "pid tuning" and you'll see what I mean. The most noticeable manifestation of bad PID tuning is oscillations on control input change.

It's a deep rabbit hole, so I'm stopping right here
