Thanks a lot for the tip.
That worked perfectly.
Once changed as I learned with a lot of my GAP tool programing, that you do have to restart and or drive it couple miles and restart again to get the changes to fully take hold.
All good now.
Thanks again.

Got everything working on my end except park assist (think it just needed an overnight reboot). I am getting the park assist screen in the app selection screen, but it’s not (yet loading). Hoping I’m able to get similar success as others by waiting a day or two.

Default Dynamic Soft Button

The ‘Demo’ screen

My actual current screen

I got my GAP IID tool last week and have been playing around with it a bit.

I have a Carpathian Edition (V8) in the North American Market. I have Pivi 4.1.5 installed. It came standard with many of the options out there, however I can still add a # of features with the tool.

Yesterday, I was playing around with 882 and 895 in the CCF files. I can’t recall who/where it was posted (see text below), however it enabled a ‘shortcuts’ screen that allows for TR (Terrain Response) settings via soft buttons.

It also made some changes to the ‘real estate’ on the left and right side of the screen. The right side now has a slider for Volume and the left side has TR Modes.

When Pivi first booted up, it showed some ‘demo’ screens of the new layout. It included some Climate options on the left side. Unfortunately, they have not shown up yet on the screen.

The only downside is that the left side used to be customizable with the apps that I could choose. It is now ‘fixed’.

My guess is that there are more changes in the future and things will change over time, however I found this exciting to play with. Has anyone else seen this yet? Thanks for all who have contributed to this thread. I find it very fun to explore/add/customize features.

FWIW, I am still not able to get Park Assist to work. Like others have posted, everything seems to sequence correctly, however the START button remains greyed out.

The post I saw
…882 to enable the side bars on the ends of the screen. This way you can quickly adjust the AC temp, fan, drive mode, seat temps, volume. You also need to enable a few setting that if I recall were grouped in the 895 and you can choose what short cuts you want displayed such as window defrost etc. Those are called soft buttons..

Default Start Up in Auto TR

This worked for me. Can't recall where found it tho. It took a couple reboots and restarts to appear. Note that I also performed some activations that gave me 'side menu bars' and the 'shortcuts' screen. I'm not sure if the success of this activation depends on those.

I hope that it works out for you.

Thanks @chpsk8 I formatted it all before posting, however the formatting was not included when I pasted it in. I appreciate you making it right.

Example question:

How to add Park Assist with gap tool

Example Response:
To set up Park Assist on your Land Rover using the GAP IID Tool, you'll need to modify several parameters within the vehicle's Car Configuration File (CCF). Below are the steps and settings changes needed to activate Park Assist:

Step-by-Step Process for Park Assist Activation:

  1. Launch the GAP IID Tool and connect it to your vehicle.
  2. Access the CCF settings through the tool’s menu.
  3. Modify the following settings in the CCF related to Park Assist:

Settings to Activate Park Assist:

  • EUCD-059 Parking Assistance
    • Standard: Without Parking Assistance
    • Change to: PDC (Front, Rear) - Parking (Parallel, Exit)
  • EUCD-099 Park Assist Camera
    • Standard: Without Park Assist Camera
    • Change to: With Park Assist Camera
  • EUCD-140 Pdcautoactivationmenu
    • Standard: Not supported
    • Change to: With PDC Auto Activation menu
  • MultiCAN-469 PDCAutoActivation
    • Standard: Not Supported
    • Change to: Default OFF configurable
  • MultiCAN-500 PDCBtnFCIM
    • Standard: Not supported
    • Change to: Fitted
  • MultiCAN-602 PDC
    • Standard: PDC not fitted
    • Change to: 10 Channel fitted (Park Assist)
  • MultiCAN-786 Park Assist
    • Standard: Not Fitted
    • Change to: Full Auto VarD (Fully automated park assist with automated steering, braking, acceleration, and gears)

Additional Instructions:

  • After making these changes, you may need to perform two resets of the PIVI infotainment system for the changes to take effect.
  • Perform a full vehicle shutdown to clear any initial error messages, such as “Emergency Brake Assist Unavailable.”
Once the tool has successfully updated these settings and the car has restarted, you should see Park Assist available in the PIVI system’s menu.Let me know if you need further clarification!

Per the workshop manual.

It isn't super noticeable in day to day driving, but roll your windows down, floor it and you'll notice how different it sounds and how quiet the engine is outside. Plus, the wind/ambient noises are louder than the fake engine noise.

Seems it is now pretty much common place.
I don’t know that it happens to v8 cars and trucks, but it is pretty common with 4 and 6 banger turbo cars and trucks.
Your V8 has it, too. In fact, in the initial Defender V8 press release was the first time JLR publicly stated that the Defender has fake engine noise in any PR material.

Glad to see this- will finally get me motivated to buy the tool. First thing will be to turn off auto stop/start completely!! Without a doubt the most irritating thing on any new car!!
