Default drivers door lock

My drivers door wouldn't lock/unlock with the key or with the dash button (don't have the key fob-just a plain key). I read all the posts about the actuator so I thought that was the problem. I took everything apart, bought a new actuator & then plugged it in to check it before reassembly. It still doesn't work. The green plug where the rod attaches moves just a little but nothing else. I checked the only fuse labeled for the door lock & it's OK. What should I check next? The back doors & rear door work normally when the button is pushed- the front passenger door hasn't worked for a couple of years. It's a 2001 D2.

have you tried to move the actual rod or cable to see if they will operate the lock?
disconnect the rod from the door handle and see if either the rod or the handle will operate seperately.

The rod & cable both move freely & will move the mechanical parts, it's the electrical part that's not moving. I have the cable & rod disconnected & the actuator is not mounted in the door yet. It seems like it's getting some power but maybe not enough.

Here are some pages from the RAVE. Doors are lock/unlocked by voltage from the relays in the fuse block, the polarity is reversed to make lock motor run in opposite direction. Then there is the second lock motor, for super locking.

You will notice that driver door has that extra switch which operates the alarm system.
