Doesn’t a clear title indicate a possible total loss vehicle that was fixed? There is a big difference between clean & clear, no? I asked him last night, but no response yet.

He defintely seems like a guy who knows the trucks well and took care of it. Great color combo. It does still have an OEM front driveshaft (though not the original one to this truck). If I end up buying it, first thing would be to replace that and change to a 180 degree stat. The rear frame rails were a little scaley on the driver’s side, but not as bad as I was expecting.

Salvage is the bad one, Clean/Clear in TX means no issues.

Hmm. My understanding is a clean title is what you want. A clear title is a title that has been ‘cleared’ or something. A salvage/total loss can be rebuilt to a clear title, but a clean title can only be a vehicle that has never been in a serious accident.

Could be every state handles them differently. In TX it’s Salvage Title, Rebuilt Salvage Title, then Clear/Clean Blue Title. I knew a few people back in the day that registered salvage titles in other states for a few years, then when transfered back to TX = Clean/Clear blue title.... crazy loop holes for sure.

Clear title can also mean there is no loan associated with the vehicle.

Yep I forgot about loans as I haven’t had one on a vehicle in years! Very good point Matt.

That is true too. I did some googling on this last night, and it appears we are all right. It can mean all of this. This was also a topic of conversation on defendersource recently, I see.

The seller never responded to my question about whether the truck had been in any accidents. Maybe the OP or someone else ended up buying it. The ad is still up, though.
