I agree 100%. If my fan magically showed up today, I would swap it out in a heartbeat or maybe 15 minutes.
I also am in fact a casino's dream customer.

Unhappy

Dropped the truck off at the mechanic this morning. About a mile away on the drive home last night I started feeling vibration and then stuttering whenever I pressed the accelerator. Oil light flashed very briefly. Turned the car off to check the oil level - low -> added oil -> no change. Filled up on Plus instead of Primo (station was completely out).

Wish I was as good as you guys at diagnosing these problems, and maybe graced with a bit of mechanical skill as well. I love this vehicle so much and hate to see crap going wrong with it.

You made the right move not to use it until sorted otherwise you could 'lunch' your engine. It may be an oil pump failure or an electronic failure - I'm guessing a bit ........... but it's better to not use it and have it diagnosed than risk seizing the engine or killing the crank + rods and possibly the pistons and bores.

Default Today

Changed the oil, hit the zerks on the drive shafts, bypassed the SVS switch only to trigger a new set of abs faults

Down the rabbit hole once again!

Used him to take the 4 & 2 yr old to daycare.

Braedan (4) prefers Sir Axlerod to the Dart somedays, and I'm happy to oblige.

All systems checked out fine.... Off to the hills in T -36 hours and counting.

Changed the rear rotors and brake pads. Did my first oil changed with the Disco and changed the Diff Oil as well. Discovered a coolant leak on the passenger side of the radiator. Looks like thats my next project.

Repacked some spare front 1/2 shafts......can I use a big hose clamp to re secure the gaiters or will the screw hit the back of the knuckle?

Default Day 1 of 2

Lets see where to begin. I replaced both upstream O2 sensors. Replaced coolant temp sensor. Removed the throttle body heater and associated hoses. I did remove the nipple in the intake and tapped it with a 1/8" pipe tap in order to install my aftermarket coolant temp gauge. Replaced the ignition coil packs, replaced the spark plugs and plug wires. Replaced the valve cover gaskets. Replaced my battery isolator and installed an accessory fuse panel.

Replaced my Fuel Purge Valve this afternoon with a genuine Bosch (made in Czech Rep) one. Have read of people replacing it with the cheaper Hyundai one, but figured I'd stick with what they put in the vehicle (Bosch)... especially seeing it was only $72 (bought from BP Utah off eBay). No more P0440. Hardest part was removing the factory clamps.

Been running a little hot at idle after sitting a while with ac on even after new thermo (motorad) and condenser fan. Decided to replace viscous fan even though hand spin test it tested ok and in the process noticed the small hose connector on radiator had been jbwelded in place from previous owner and was now leaking a little. Got a new OE thermo, radiator and viscous fan ordered and installed this weekend.

Noticed driving temps are about 5 to 8 degress cooler (about 188 avg down from previous 194 avg) but still climb at idle to about 210. Figure I have some air in there and sure enough after it cools down and I open bleeder and reservoir I hear the air escape, top it off and take up to temp again and let it cool down all day so I can repeat. Well I second repeat I left the reservoir cap loose and while letting it get up to temp went to grab a beer only to come out to coolant all over the ground. So back to trying to get air out of it after letting half a jug pour all over the garage floor.

I guess my old viscous fan was the noise I was getting as well from the front that wasn't changing with rev and would last for 3 to 5 minutes on startup that sounded kind of like a belt chirping. It has gone away since I replaced it.
