Just bought a winch bumper from England (https://www.famousfour.co.uk/new_par...art?part=13746). Was cheaper when factoring in shipping to AK than any of the lower 48 vendors.


Sometimes when you screw up (in this case, trying to get the garage door handle unstuck from the front plastic bumper by pushing the opener), you get to upgrade!

It's a 1973 Donzi Classic 18.... Look-alike. It's our first boat and we went with the oddball choice instead of the reasonable recreational bowrider. Now I'm hooked on getting a real Donzi!

It has a Ford 351 Windsor V8 with a 4 barrel Holley carb and raised intake. Through hull exhaust is LOUD and sounds like a real V8. Fast little boat. I've only taken it up to 45; trying to get a feel for it before attempting to air it out and push it faster. Probably needs a different prop and would go in the 60 MPH range. These boats really are for going fast and looking cool, and the deep v hull is made for blasting through chop at full speed.

Second picture was taken at Daufuskie Island, south of Hilton Head, north of Savannah, on the intracoastal.

Got the oil changed and tires rotated. Bought 5L of dex 3 trans fluid. Tomorrow I'm gonna drain the trans and refill. Hopefully 5L is enough, although I have 2 1L bottles as well

So. Been bleeding from tranny. I did a gasket and refresh last fall hoping all would be well. I doubted myself after when leak persisted that I mucked up. Bleeding hasn’t slowed. I took it in for one of those “free” inspections. They called, said case is cracked. HOLY *****... am I done? I’m close to done.

She turned into Christine after I bought the MGB. Really she did...
