it should be a good one, weather is looking to be perfect. Wife is joining me so finally doing more of the sight seeing side of Moab vs just trail riding. Although I do have her convinced to run Elephant Hill and possibly Hey Joe Canyon so it should be a little more fun than just dirt road riding! February is my wheeling focused trip that is more the traditional off-roading trip (hells revenge, top of the world, poison spyder and might try moab rim...just depends on other vehicles capabilities)

Everytime something like that comes up I'm all excited and start putting together plans to attend then come to my senses and remember I dislike wheeling with huge groups and taking all day to run a 4 mile trail that normally is a couple of hours. Maybe one of these days I'll make it happen but like the idea of the week before or after to see if there are any hold overs that want to meetup and wheel with less crowds.

It's been quite a while since I've been on this forum as I got caught up with that "life" thing. Over the last month I have been chasing down different coolant leaks. From a simple reservoir cap with a shot o-ring, then to reservoir with a hairline crack at the same time as the heater core hoses, and now the series of hoses attached to the 3 pronged plastic piece attached to the water pump. I am thinking I will rewrap some of the wiring while I am here as the ripped plastic wrapping is all but dust now.

Hopefully after these replacements and a flush the cooling system will be happy for a while!

definitely, rewrap that wire loom and zip tie it out of the way so it cannot hit the exhaust manifold. i managed to melt a wire in half by not paying close enough attention to this.

Default Smoke test and painted rims

Getting SAI errors but couldn’t find anything wrong. Rigged up a cheaply smoke test and found a quick leak and possibly a failed vacuum solenoid. Also decided to try out the rustoleum peel coat on the rims. I think it turned out great!

Sealing the intake

Full set up

Just needed to tighten this one

This connector poured out smoke

Need to research this

This coating is pretty flawless and self leveling. Very impressed with this stuff!

@cvhyatt ... good idea with the hand pump! I was blowing the cigar smoke into the tube to smoke test my vacuum system. The cigar smoke was making me nauseous and light headed.

Small progress, took the 4.0 apart.
Now to clean the block and remove the cam bearings and freeze plugs.
Then the 4.6 rebuild starts.
