Replaced my front cracked bumper with a used replacement. I was actually very surprised on how little protection is in there. Very pleased with the final outcome.
my son and i pulled the intake manifold and replaced the coils on his 2001. all in all a pretty straight forward and easy project.
i was fairly intimidated to dig in, disassemble everything and pull the intake manifold off, but it wasn't nearly as difficult as i thought it would be.
and it seems to have fixed the misfires on cylinders 5 and 8.
Replaced the leaky power steering pump and all three hoses. The ps pump is fairly easy thanks to the Atlantic British video. The high pressure line was a bit more of a struggle. Thanks to @bustedwheel for his write up as there is no real info out there. It's not difficult, just agravaiting more than any thing.
Went wheeling with my buddy yesterday, we and our ladies had a heck of a time. He took out his disco and I, since my disco is still down for the count, took out the old Dodge. I got to try out my winch which I got mounted up day before yesterday. We both took turns getting stuck. The hole you see me in in the second picture, while it wasn't that deep, I got wedged between some pretty sizable rocks under the water. I could move a couple feet back and forth but couldn't get the momentum to hop over them. He just sunk straight into mud. In the first picture I didn't realize I was still in 2wd. The to transfer case linkage must be misadjusted, it wouldn't let me in 4Hi.
Outside of those couple incidents it was an uneventful day. We did in the ballpark of 25 miles off road and had a wonderful time. He got to use out his new 3" terrafimat lift and 33" mud tires which look fantastic. I'll sprinkle some pictures and video below.
2001 Disco 2
Finally got around to 3000 mile oil change(15w/40 Rotella) while installing the Glowshift oil psi gauge with the sandwich thangy for the sending unit, the Mann oil filter I picked up was too long to fit with the sandwich plate so I threw on the K&N filter I had in the truck.
20-23 ish PSI hot idle, Good Great Horrible i dunno, runs about 50psi down the road at 190 deg
Nevermind the Dust.
Was already all greased up so I changed the gear oil(85w/140 gl5 sumthin sumthin) in both diffs and the transfer case while I was feelin motivated. Damn that transfer case fill port is nice and easy to reach...Transfer case was about a QT low, No more whine after service.
My reward for the services provided was a coolant waterfall upon restart. Driverside radiator leakn pretty bad, not the little plastic line on top the rad not the coolant hose, guessing it split at a seam maybe cant really see, digging into that tomorrow.

Really cool, but how do I turn off the audio/video so I don't hear it every time I look at this thread? I didn't know embedded video was possible. New feature?
