did a bit of maintenance work on my daughter's '04 since she leaves for school soon.
oil+filter change, Schaeffer 15w40 semi synthentic
air filter
fixed the air intake with some fast drying silicone. the fabric body was disintegrating.
and, using Extinct's thermostat kit, did the Inline thermostat mod.
this '04 has a new radiator, new water pump, had a new 180 LR thermostat and was still running warmer than i liked. to give myself and my daughter peace of mind i purchased the Inline Mod kit from Extinct and installed it. can't recommend this enough. took less than an hour to do, looks clean and dropped temps to right where i wanted them.
Edit: oh yeah. also purchased five (5) Pirelli Scorpion AT Plus 265/60/18 for the Discovery. with the stock suspension the tires make the truck sit just a little higher and look really good.

Roverians,
Lost power in my disco. Found that my terminal were really worn out , could not even tighten them any more and some corrosion setting in. Bought an upgraded negative quick disconnect and new positive universal positive terminalclamp. See pics Durlast easy connect battery terminal DL00316. Autocraft AC166
I've started replacing my V8 engine mounts for the 300Tdi mounts and was leary of the block of wood under the oil sump per the RAVE. It's good to know others have reported on the forum that it does work so that is some relief to me.
My problem now is getting the very last topside nut undone on the LHD side of the engine. The steering box and hoses are in the way and it's a tight fit getting a 10" length 18mm wrench in there to get some leverage on that last nut. Ugh...
I think the nut is stripped. Jeez... I'll remove the intake piping and get at that last engine mount nut from the top when I have more light tomorrow. While messing about under the Disco I replaced all 4 of the worn boots on my Terrafirma track rod ends with the polyurethane boots from Gwyn Lewis.
I still have more items to complete to get Myrtle ready for MOT.
Took the Rover to a tire shop and bought her new shoes: Nitto Terra Grappler G2 265/60R18. Perfect fit, far from rubbing, perfect fit. They were even cheaper than the stock size tires.

I bought a replacement stereo from Crutchfield, and it came with the usual adapters to connect to the factory harnesses, but when I plugged it in and powered up, I get absolute silence. The adapter kit didn't mention any particular wire to connect the "Remote On" wire to in order to turn on the amplifier, so I looked around the internet and found the closest thing I could, a wiring diagram for a 2003 Disco II. Mine is a 2001 SE7, so the plugs may be wired differently, but I can't validate that because I can't find the 2001 wiring diagrams.
Does anyone have the wiring diagrams for the "high line" stereo system? I don't have a PC that I can run my old version of RAVE on at the moment, so I have to rely on PDF's posted by cheritable people.
I suppose I should post this in its own thread, not just the "What did you do today" thread....
Nothing major on my end for my 01 D2. Just replaced the plastic radiator overflow tank. Then I find out today that Bearmach has an aluminum replacement. Oh well.
JoJo, I'm looking for the expansion tank but only see it for the D1 here: https://bearmach.com/aluminium-expansion-tank-ba-2324. Do you have the link for the D2 tank on Bearmach? Or is the D1 tank compatible with the D2?
