Looks like I just gave my wife my Disco.. She's been driving it the last couple of days while our older boy is driving her car while his is in the shop. I got a text today talking about "I think you're gonna have to give me your Disco." "It's really fun to drive!" She said she would share it with me... Say what!...

Maybe, I can get another project.

I had to to the same. Now she has the nice truck and I have the jacked up off-road vehicle. Best of both worlds

Same here, but it's the P38 that she drives when her Mustang is parked for the winter. But let's not complain, we get to have 2 (or more) LR's this way!

Thanks for the support guys! Glad to know I’m not the only one. Seriously though, I’m glad that she finally understands my addiction and now she supports it more.

Added some noico sound deadener while my headliner was out.

Replaced the cracked foam edges on my rear speakers. Unfortunately my radio is currently locked, but this should take care of the vibrations from the bass in music.

$20 kit from eBay

Looks to me like you're about due up for new brushes in your fan. Not a lot left on those.

That grime will have zero effect on the operation of the fan. Actually, you're generally better to not clean the commutator. All that dust is graphite that has worn off of the brushes. The graphite on the commutator itself acts as a lubricant. Your brushes will wear a little faster until that graphite is built back up on the comm bars.

As for your motor, do you notice any leaks? It is not odd for a brand new motor to burn some oil as the piston rings have not fully seated in yet.

Scratch that, just scrolled back down. I misunderstood that you had had the engine rebuilt. No, that loss (or lack?) Of oil is not normal. Of course, you will never get the whole 6 quarts out as some oil stays soaked on various parts, you've got some oil in filling the oil filter itself, and the oil that is in the oil passages does not drain back to the pan when the engine is shut off. If you are not showing any leaks I would not be concerned with it.

Did my first oil change 500 miles after a reseal and new camshaft in the engine. Only got 4 1/3 quarts of oil out - assuming the shop put in the right amount that’s kinda concerning. Does the initial brake in oil get consumed at a faster rate?

I thought my 4.0 takes 6.1 quarts.
