Auto start/stop defeat
I wish I had searched for this sooner. I can't help but feel as if letting the auto on/off do its thing during my last trip contributed to the engine problem that has my D5 waiting to be serviced. Members on this forum and the service rep at the dealership both mentioned a cylinder misfire as a possibility, but I won't know until next week.
I am disconnecting the connector as soon as I get it back. I was able to get a 2020 RR loaner, but I would rather be driving my customized D5!

works like charm, no side effects.
Same as confirmed for RR and Jags in the link above, apparently all have same plug.
On the display you see Crossed "A" in a circle when you stop on light and normally the engine would be killed. this is another indication that it is correct plug and it does affect what we need,

Yes, only one battery.
Done... now that the ac isn't being stressed in Houston and keeling it running at lights, the auto stop start us driving us crazy. I was able to ignore it for a while, and was going to let it get to the first dealer oil change before unplugging it... but I couldn't wait lol.
Try a bright flashlight to see where the tab to push is located.
If you are still unsuccessful I can get you a photo of it.
I don't recall exactly what I pressed to release the plug but it's like most plugs - there's a little place you need to press to lever a tab out of the way and release it.

chouck - Thank you for your detailed post. I really detest this feature as well. I have a 2020 Velar and was trying to disconnect the VQM, however, I found out that it is behind the quarter panel trim, almost the same location as you've shown in the picture, except that there is no access panel and the VQM module is attached to the body of the car rather than sitting on the floor area. I can barely see it thru the access panel for the fuse box that is there, but no way to get my hand thru it to the VQM. There is absolutely no way to get at it unless the quarter panel trim is removed. I've not been able to find any instructions on how to remove this panel. Since I've always been very poor at removing panels without breaking the clips or part of the panel, I'm hesitant to go at it without having the right instructions. Would you have any idea how this panel can be removed? I am almost at the point of cutting the panel and creating my own access door.
Thanks.
Thanks.
