Default In Control Pro with Verizon

My 3 month ATT free data is about to expire. Would like to just add the Discovery onto my Verizon plan as an additional data device (like an iPad etc). Any idea if that's possible? Seems very unclear what networks can be the provider

Thanks.

I would guess that depends if it has CDMA capability since ATT is GSM. If there is a spot for a sim card you could just try putting your verizon sim in it to see if it works

We were told not to swap in a new SIM. The dealer said add the SIM onto our plan.

going to do it this month, I’ll report back

My free ATT trial is ending soon. I have Verizon for my phones, and I've been dissatisfied with my ATT coverage. Were you able to get it added to your Verizon plan? Any noticeable better coverage?

My guess is the dealer suggested using the 'OEM' SIM to be sure it's a data only card.

Most carriers have data-only devices and plans, so I assume you can find a data-only card if need be.

We added the existing sim to our plan at ATT.

Verizon is CDMA, so I doubt the D5 will work on it. AT&T is GSM and I think in the US the only other option will be T-Mobile (but I think AT&T coverage is better). Since the D5 was build in Europe I think it may only support GSM based networks. I may be wrong, but have not seen anybody use Verizon with it.

As already stated, the D5 uses a GSm network, so adding to Verizon will not be an option.
I already tried, and was told by both Verizon and the Dealer is cannot be done.

See my other post(s) regarding using a phone as a 'hotspot'. It's a good workaround to get a CDMA connection in the car.

I heard that freedompop has a free data only sim plan that works with InControl. Not sure if true - I ordered one and will test it when mine stops working
