If I was not worried about reception, could the rack cover the shark fin? Is it high enough?

How are you liking your rack? Do you have it off most of the time? Is the wind noise that bad? I currently have a basket and light bar up top, I imagine this would be quieter.

Thanks for for the info, nice set up.
No idea on the Thule crossbar fitment, as the slots may be different in size. Check out the Rhino website for the instructions as it may give you more info.

Off the top of my head, the rack would clear the shark fin antenna. However you can't go much beyond it to avoid the tailgate hitting it when open.

I like the rack, only used it a few times. I have it off most of the time, and one of the reasons I chose the Rhino, as it is easy to fit and take off again (can do it by myself with a few towels and a ladder in a few minutes now). Would love the setup in a garage like BchBum has, but not enough space.

Wind noise is minimal, but after I attached the jerry can holder it is more noticeable unloaded. I suspect with a light bar upfront it will be a lot more noticeable, especially closer to the windshield airflow angle. That said with a bunch of suitcases on top it was not noticeable when playing the radio, or even when I just had the jerry cans up. I did notice it, but not intrusive with no other sound in the vehicle.

Great post! I have been going back and forth between the Rhino Rack and the Front Runner. The fact that you can take the Rhino Rack off and on maybe a selling point!

Thanks for the pics too, love the color!!

How do you fit a Yakima Box (I have one and don't want to give it up) to the Rhino Platform when it uses slats that run parallel with the car and Yakima usually clamps to horizontal cross bars?

I also have a Yakima box and it looks as though you can hook it to the thinner bar that runs under the platform slats.

Conversely, you can use these adapters Rhino Rack Box adapter

Just looking at this pic. Why did you decide to fit to cross bars. Rhino's page says you can go directly on the vortex legs? Is that for clearance of the sunroof?

Did you consider the Pioneer Tray at all? Or was it going to add too much height to your set up?

Great Review! Just picked up a Pre Owned 17 Disco and am considering both the Frontrunner or Rhino but I'm considering FR just for I think it seems larger than Rhino. I have a larger Smitty built Roof tent and I would love to carry a few extra accessories on there while on the road that I can download after.
