In general:
  • 110X P400, 11.4" touchscreen (we'll see, haven't been told otherwise), panoramic roof
    • really wanted that 6 cylinder extra oomph for towing here in Colorado's altitude on and off-road
    • front+rear differential locks, etc
  • Pangea Green, black roof, premium LED headlights, factory satin protection film
    • I have a wrap on my second FJ (front only) and it has made a huge difference in addressing colorado pin striping & rock chips
  • 19" off-road tires (that's a whole separate discussion)
  • 5 seater (plan to use that last row seating/cargo space for my existing ARB fridge, extra battery, etc)
  • center console is the armrest - did not opt for the mini fridge as we have the ARB - and no centre seat as it's just two of us 90% of the time
  • tow package w/advanced tow assist, etc
  • cold climate pack (incl. heated steering, heated windshield, etc).
    • Mostly for the wife's desire for heated steering but I have family in the Great White North (Edmonton, Alberta) and I confess I love the heated steering in the Macan on those cold days.
  • load space storage rails, air compressor, roof rack, ladder, raised air intake, lunch box, etc
  • leather heated + cooled front seats, heated rear seats (trying to keep up with all the stuff on wife's Macan LOL)
Basically way more than I'm accustomed to and, as my family & friends will attest to, more than I deserve LOL I'll have to be careful where I scratch lest it be caught on all the camera and towing tech in the rig!

After delivery, need to square away rock rails, hi-lift jack mount, traction board mounts, etc, but that the easy part. Once the beastie is parked in my garage I KNOW it's HERE and there is a whole year to square away those ****ly bits.

It'll be serious change from the FJ and motorcycles, but it'll be great! We wanted a tow vehicle for the off-road trailer (reference Kimberley previously) so we can enjoy our early retirements. Also wanted a 4 seater so my wife can swap out the 5 door Macan back to a two door 'sportier' Porsche as she had previously (is there such a thing as a 'more sporty' Porsche? sadly YE$) One door closes - another door opens - we'll embrace the adventure that is Land Rover and see where it takes us!
That's an impressive spec! Well done. Looking forward to seeing pictures.
While it's hard to compete with a Macan I can say as an RS6 owner that the difference is a joy! One is blindingly fast and the other can go anywhere. Though having the RS6 engine in the 110 might be fun

Matt

I traded by Macan GTS (which was about my favorite car ever) for a 90 as I decided that if I want more spirited driving, I also have a 911 and my 'truck' should be more 'truck-like'.

Yes, I know, clearly a first world problem!

I'm trading in our X5 M50i for another Defender. I'm missing too many "winter" features on the X5 like a heated windshield, headlight washers, fog lights, snow mode, adjustable ground clearance and low gear if stuck in snow. Plus, I'm a safer driver when in our Defender...X5 523 HP V8 encourages occasional maniac driving.

Did your dealer provide any reasons for the delay? Mine is (hopefully) going to reach out to distribution to find out what's going on. It was built 07/19 so not sure why its stuck

Dealer got an allocation for my Order on the 16th, here’s my build sheet. Can’t wait! Ordered July 1st, put in the holding pool July 2nd.

Means about less than 6 month total time from ordering to delivery and about 3 month total time from allocation to delivery. Subject to change of course.

No reason given, looks like mine was built 7/11. Here is my build sheet do you want to see if we maybe have something in common that might now be “as standard” as some others? Definitely let me know if you get a reason. I went ahead and booked my flight for 10/1, but haven’t booked my return flight yet, hoping maybe delivery moves back up from 10/21 at least some.

I owe you a burger if you are ever in FW.
I'm a born and raised FW native and only go East when I have to. I see by your handle that you used to be a Jeep guy, well, that's one of my other two vehicles, the other being an HD pickup.

For anyone who has ordered a defender before, are you required to do in-house financing to place an order? I'm working with a dealer to place an order and they told me that I must do in-house financing when the car arrives,. Their current rate is around 4.9%, which almost doubles my local credit union. And they won’t negotiate on it.

There's been a few posts on this and it's a dealer thing, not a JLR thing. You can always refinance the next day and even those who have been told by the dealer they can't refinance have. I find it unlikely they'll sue for breach, assuming such contractual language is binding.
