replaced the rear window guides with nylon washers from lowes.....
replaced driver front guides with the washer fix on 2 of the arms on regulator
and had to weld an arm on from a newer model regulator i had...ugggg what a pain,as the tips the washers go on are different
had to cut off....grind a bolt down to make a stud.....and weld on the arm
i had to guess at length of arm...as the arm that went to LOWER track was GONE..LOLOLOL someone cut it off!!!!! previous owner obviously had an issue and made it worse......
i have had it over 2 years......and it worked till the ORIG TOP guides broke
and one guide pin snagged in a hole in track BINDING ARMS AND SNAPPING guides.........anywho...yeah, i was busy....but honestly pretty easy fix on the nylon washer guides....i took pix....will have to learn how to down load them here
1998 DISCO
long time lurker....thanks for all the TIPS GUYS

Drove 60 miles. First 2 miles coolant temp went steady up to 205, then settled down to 183 most of the way at 45-55 on back roads. 20 miles on I-95 at 75-80, 183-185F. Exit and slow down and loaf along in stop & go traffic for 20 miles, 183-187. Idled in parking lot for 5 minutes, stayed 187-189. Have a 180F stat, rodded out radiator. 183K 97. AC on, 85F outside. Noted that IAT was anywhere from 120 - 136F, maybe some shop vac hose could duct in some cooler air for the engine....

Started work on the brakes. Ugh.

I managed to pull the right front caliper, totally rusty. Pads unevenly worn, pistons corroded. I had already gotten pads & stainless hoses, but had to order replacement pistons & seals.

While I was pumping the brakes, I found fluid squirting out off one of the lines going to the rear of the truck, so I'll need to get some brake line & fabricate those.

I was really hoping to be driving this week. Truck runs great otherwise. Looks like another week.

Oh, also put the VSS back in. Good Grief! Whoever came up with that should be shot! I ended up pulling the center spindle and putting it in place, then mounting the sensor over it.

Had a good trip to the National Elephant park the weekend. Ran into lonely one toothed bull who didn't want me to pass. Held me up for 1 hour. Saw few Hippo's in the lake as well.
Pics not good. Disco behaved well and the actual news is that my Terrafirma suspention goodies is on the border.
Last trip on these shocks and coils.

Ok, you've got an Elephant in the same picture as your Rover. Now THAT's the proper use of a Land Rover! Thanks for sharing.

Was it a direct fit? I'm pretty sure I found the same one - but the Advanced website doesn't say that it's a match. Did you have to make any modifications?
