Thanks for the update! This is what I like to hear. A large part of me wants you to go back to the dealer and tell them. Not that they'd care. Of course if you call the service manager, or whoever is the boss of the advisor who was lying, and tell them you were being deceived....
If he had brought his car to my shop I would have checked the pressure, checked power to the pump from under the hood, then quoted him on a new pump. Then when I got the back open I would have seen that he had messed the plug up and would have fixed it and charged him what time I had into it. The dealer may have done the same thing depending on the honesty of the technician. (MOST are pretty honest)
