What did you do with your DII today?
Lol it will actually push back in at least 3 or more inches when it’s mounted, it is only on jack stands to help locate stuff. I might even trim the grill to recess it in further. I do want enough real estate there to stand on. It’s always easier to grab a winch cable by standing on the bumper than in the mud.
i just went through all this, as well. what a pain in the ***, shoulder, wrist and neck. eventually my i was able to convince my wife to come out and help.
the most frustrating bit is that the issue turned out to be frayed wires. the CKPS wasn't even the issue. on a positive note, i now have a trail spare.

Switched away from my K&N Air Filter. I inspected it today while tightening up a Passenger side Exhaust Manifold to Cat Bolt that has been loosening, and possibly causing rough idle. The K&N Sits sort of loose, at least at 30 degrees it does, and it looks to me like all of the air was sneaking around one corner as only one small portion of the filter is dirty. I haven't seen that before. Just got a Mann Filter at Napa that was on sale.
One of my V8 engine mounts is breaking free from the rubber. They are the original older mounts so I've decided to replace both engine mounts.
I bought two 300TDI Bearmach #NTC9416 diesel engine mounts for £12/$15 each since the V8 mounts are almost 3-4x the price. The 300TDI mount will fit the V8 but the bolts are bigger in diameter than the V8 mount bolts so four M10 nuts are needed.

Took the white 04 to work and removed both crossmembers, by heating each captured nut. Also removed y-pipe to change 02's , while engine is out. Welded a patch on the frame rail by passenger side cat and undercoated.

tried -- and failed -- to remove a lug nut that was cross-threaded by the previous owner. it's tightened all the way to the wheel. now the stud just spins.
i've tried an air gun, both with and without pressure on the wheel. tried splitting the nut. i even tried cutting through the spokes of the wheel just to get the damn thing out of the way enough to get in behind it but my grinder burned out and i also slipped and slit the end of my thumb open bone-deep on the cutting wheel. starting to get just a little bit annoyed.

Removed 02 sensors from y-pipe (spun right out). Replace exhaust manifold studs on one manifold and scrapped the other (cracked). Wire-wheeled all 16 crossmembers bolts, ready for whenever they are needed.

It took forever for final positioning, got it as close and as high as possible without cutting up the rad support, I will definitely be cutting/trimming the grill to clear the winch. I almost raised the whole bumper another 1&1/4” which would of brought it up to the bottom of the headlights but I feel it would of put undue stress on the frame as it would of brought the winch mount above the bottom of the frame rails
