Fatigue/stress on the shaft, flawed part from the factory that finally gave up, could be several things.
Good news is that if nothing else was damaged, that you can get a pair of rocker shafts from Lucky8 for around $20.

Had an interesting morning.. Went to work at 530am and it was about 10 degrees out and windy. Started MagPie up as normal but it really struggled to get started but finally did. I noticed something weird while just sitting in the drivers seat but it took me a second for it to register in my head what i was seeing which was.. the cluster was completely dead and blacked out. I've been having this weird battery problem which i've shared in another post but i just gave the truck a prolonged rev and everything came to life. Really starting to think something is up with my battery but when the UG kicked on it was registering 14.25v

But in other news..

Whats in the booooxxxx

Sat, check the small wire between the cluster and the alternator. Mine was dried out and shorting to the intake. No exciter = no voltage output.

For everyone curious about the bumper source,

LRdirect.com and island-4x4.com both have crazy good pricing on all kinds of terrafirma/britpart/bearmach/oem stuff from across the pond and shipping is super reasonable and quick.

That bumper earlier in the thread is $236 before shipping from lrdirect right now

Default And so it begins...

Started the change over the new years weekend.

So far...TF lift, M/T tires, HD drag-link/tie bar, pads/rotor/calipers, bumper/brushguard installed. 55 degrees today, so heading to garage to do trans filter/fluid change, drive shaft swap and some minor stuff. Pretty dog tired from Monday and Tuesday's workout. Much more work, removing everything from old rig, removing everything from new rig, installing everything on new rig, then putting some stuff back on old rig to keep it moveable. Probably fifteen hours total over the two days. This 21513 day old SOB (me) is getting to old for all of that up and down, back and forth BS...lol.

But, trying to keep it fun...that "was" the idea anyway.

Nice work Brian!

Finally got this in the mail - no longer a 2wd pandsie Disco! Reused the bolts on the tcase but got all new hardware for everything else. Fastnel didn't have the 24tp bolts so had to go with 16tp instead Repacked with fresh grease so good to go!

Also.. Anyone know what brand this front sway bar link is? I had to pull it out and flop it around because the zerks were facing the wrong way (other side was facing the correct way)

Also tightened down the the TF shocks i have by one click to see how it effects handling. I think the springs i have are D1 HD springs which gives a rather poor ride unless there is a ton of weight in the back which there almost never is. Probably gonna look at getting some softer and lower springs in the next few months.
