Well, thank you, but, when my work computer doesn't act right, I can't put a wrench on it, and am in awe of the IT guy, as I try to keep up as he troubleshoots and fixes the problem.
And, you say you may not be a mechanic, but I'de have to say, you've been doing a pretty good job of faking it lately, lol.
Nice job so far on your D2.

Finally got the wife's disco to our house, back from her family's farm, so I can begin working on getting it running again. Also picked up the donor truck her dad gave us for the LS swap into my disco. Made for a long day, hour and a half round trip each way, but I'm glad it's finally all accessible.

New shocks and springs this weekend, front diver side spring came off in three pieces. Plasti dipped the wheels while they were off. I think it looks good!

Good question, but based on the explanation from RPI, it wouldnt think so. Seems it goes behind the sleeve and out the gasket.
FWIW though, I've never experienced this myself, but wanted to share what I learned from this vid. It answers some good questions mostly related to 03-04 issues.

You might take that gasket blow out though and compare it to the cylinders noted in the video to see if the troubled area matches their explanation.

Curious to know the age of your old shocks - how the truck drove vs how it drives now and which shocks/springs you installed.
Mine has 218k miles on what appear to be original shocks (but doubt it with that mileage).
Mine is more stiff/harsh vs soft and bouncy like I'd expect from old shocks.

Thanks...

The truck has 134k on it, looked like original everything on the suspension and couldnt not find records of a replacement in the PO's paperwork. My ride was soft until there was any bumps, speed bumps or anything like that felt awful. Really jarring and stiff. I did not expect a big change in handling but I was shocked at how well its turning and handling at low and high speeds. Prior to this I had replaced the steering damper and the steering bars. It really is not a hard project, time consuming but lets you get a good cleaning in tough to reach places on the frame as well.

Awesome. I have a pair of the first cpl he did. I didn’t paint them properly when I received them- I guess I was too excited to get them on there. Just finishing up a week project peeling all 10 broken bolts off, stripping tons of rust off the Chanel which collected rust and debris for last few years, stripped primed and painted.
I also had to cut out & replace my driver side rocker as rust had eaten into flooring.
Now with grade 8 bolts, proper paint & good sealing, it’s coming back together. I also fabbed some 2” square stock gussets and welded back to frame.
i found that using a high lift jack on the rockers unsupported to frame just bent things..

Next weekend hopefully I'll remove the black fender flares and the side trim on the doors.
