What did you do with your DII today?

This morning I installed chicken coop floor on the roof rack.
I would have never known about this if that one thread was not necro'ed the other week. All the chicken coops in my area are like little houses and we do not even have real feed stores. I do have one for the front for when I need it but I left it out as the wife likes to look through the sun roof.

Today, I tackled the inline thermostat mod. Before just idling in my driveway TorquePro would show my temps fluctuate from 198.x to 207.x. Normal driving showed it to be 202.x to 209.x. While I was at the offroad park in Low Range and going slow the temperature range was 208.x to 217.x. That all seemed a little high for my liking. After the mod in the driveway it stays at 179.x to 188.x. You can actually watch the thermostat open at 188 degrees in TorquePro. Hopefully this will prolong the overheating/head gasket issue these all have.

swapped my ARB bumper for an old original RTE fab bumper on the white one. It needs to be stripped and powder coated or painted but I'll no longer be a bulldozer on the trail...very pleased. It may end up on the classic when it's all said and done but we'll see.

Picked up a 2000 disco transfer case today for $180 from a local yard. I got it all cleaned and pulled the front off it. I might try to swap it in tomorrow. I doubt the linkage will be built tomorrow, but I might have a center diff lock transfer case in there anyway. Mine was leaking from the front section anyway.

Disco 1 CDL is in. I'm not exactly stoked about selector placement, but it will work for now when I make a little handle for it. At the moment it works fine with a 9/16" wrench.
We ran to the fair and of course the kids "Land Rovers!", So we had to take the Disco. I sent my PCM out for a tune a few weeks back to see if a mail order professional tune was better than what I had been able to get done. It is faster with the new tune, but the power band is more narrow and the mileage seems worse. I guess my next project will be more computer time with tunerpro and pcmlogger. That is unless my wife forces me to make rock sliders so she doesn't have to keep jumping her pregnant self in and out without a step.
