Default I’ve done a lot with my ‘99 disco...

Fellow Rovers,

it’s been almost a year since I’ve posted. I got back home and walked into my garage thinking “I have no idea where I left off” over the past 2 weeks I made my ‘99’s short engine to a 4.6 (I’ll post a conversion thread sometime with a lot of photos)

Now for today... I installed my front cover and water pump onto my short block. I put my new harmonic balancer ($500 :’( ) on and I’m trying to figure out how to torque that down to specs.

I then installed my headers/exhaust manifold assembly onto my short block. I placed my new lifters and pushrods in followed by the rockers and got the valley gasket on. Topping it off I placed the valve (rocker) covers on and I left off searching all over my garage for my injector clasps and the dowel for the driver side rocker cover. It was an eventful long weekend.

-Stephen

Put a piece of wood between the crank and the engine block to torque the crank pulley, 200' lbs.

You'll also have a much easier time putting the engine in and bolting on the motor mounts Without the exhaust manifolds on.

Default Oxygen Sensor Fault Hunt

Today I spent tracking down why my downstream O2 Sensor heaters weren’t working on Bank 1 and 2. They were new yesterday, but still threw a code. So, I discovered they are wired in series, and if one is cut or shorted, neither will work. The culprit was a hungry packrat who gnawed on the “blue wire” on top of the transmission. So when those two downstream stop heating, you now know where to look. Codes gone, life is good!

odd that they don’t have a C channel

Default Wife's 03

Replaced radiator and thermostat, disassembled heater blower motor and lubed bushings, replaced blown steel brake line - to left rear - and rubber hose and bled system, washed, cleaned windows, checked air in tires and filled up with fuel.

Installed some fantastic 265x60 R18 mud tires. Much needed!

Just $121 at Walmart for these Achilles Desert Hawks.
