I made the electronics module myself. It's a microprocessor with PCM voice playback and some logic to activate the message. If you are into Arduino and stuff, it is easy. Otherwise I could make kits and sell them, but it could take a while.
Today i did the "Option B" ABS modulator repair, reset the ABS codes with the LRII code reader. I expected to have to replace the shuttle valve at least, but the resistance was within spec.
No three amigos anymore- although it needs a new master cylinder and some frame repair before I take it out on the road to really check it.
Old Mojave Road, started at hwy 95 East to West. Stock suspension, only upgrade is 30.5" tires. Aired the tires down to 20/30. Used center lock sometimes, low range only one time. Piute Mountains is the hardest part, but the Land Rover took it with ease. Jeeps tried to ignore me. Mojave "River" crossing is only a few inches deep right now, water barely reached the rims.
Completed the return leg of our trip from Denver to VA last night. Other than the expected terrible mpg the truck just eats up the miles with relative ease. Other than the lucky8 front driveshaft dying on the way out a rather uneventful drive (which is a good thing). Truck is much smoother with the tom woods shaft up front.
I sold my spare Disco yesterday to my brother-in-law. I picked it up for $500 a few years ago. 7 seater - rear air conditioning. I put a new radiator in, odds and ends off the parts truck. Did a little cutting to make the 2004 bumper fit better on the 2000 truck. New windshield. A steal at the family discounted price of $1200
I haven’t driven Myrtle at all since the Tier 4 lockdown started back in December. I put a battery conditioner/charger on her even though she still starts up fine.
In other British news...
With all the flooding going on now from Storm Cristoph here in England, I find it intriguing when a news station is showing flooded roads with stranded cars, there is always that one video of a Land Rover ripping through the water with the best of ease while making tidal waves.
